Santa's Secret Shop

Next Tuesday our class will be going to Santa's Secret Shop to purchase gifts.  On this day I also allow students to wrap their purchased gifts.  If you have a roll of Christmas wrapping paper that you could donate to our classroom it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Gum Day

Our class has earned a monthly reward for collecting over 150 Irish Pride tickets for being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe throughout the month of November.  I am so proud of each and every student within our classroom!  On Friday your child may bring gum to school for Gum Day!

Science

In science your child has been an engineer as he/she has been designing various tops.  Your child has learned that a top is made up of four basic elements: the tip or point, the shoulder, the crown, and the body.  Your child has been challenged by Mr. Hammerschmidt to design a spinning top at home made from everyday items.  Your child's top needs to be able to spin for at least 5-10 seconds.  All tops made at home need to be brought to school by Monday, Dec. 5th.  Have fun designing and spinning!

Mr. Ronnenberg's Blog

First off, I would like to wish you a very safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday.  We all have many things to be thankful for and I encourage everyone to take time and share one of those "thanks" with others.

Personally, I am thankful for my family, my health, and a great community/school to live and work in.

Before we all depart for a day of overeating and indulging, I wanted to share a quick read from a blog I subscribe to.  It is a great way to get active on a day that is easy to nap...

Check out this link for three great activities for a little family fun!

Book Its

Maple Lake Elementary is participating in the Pizza Hut Book It Program again this year.  The only way to get better at reading is to read.  The Pizza Hut Book It Program motivates children to read more by rewarding them for their reading accomplishments.  It can be used to enhance programs that teach children how to read, support comprehension and intervention programs, and encourage parents to spend more time reading with their children at home. These certificates will be honored at any Pizza Hut.  Please be sure to use the certificate before it expires, which is 30 days from the date posted on the certificate.  The Monticello Movie Theater is no longer accepting these certificates.  I will hand these certificates out in the classroom to those students who have their yellow reading sheet signed each night for both reading and math.
