Mr. Ronnenberg's Blog
I am so sorry for the late blog post on soccer... I am attempting to post some videos of our time in PE and struggling, but it will work out. Until then...
Primary grades worked on kicking, passing, trapping, and even goal tending. We have spent time working on understanding our right from our left and figuring out which side we prefer to use. Intermediate grades are expanding on their skills with fun lead up games like "Endline soccer" and "Solf"! We culminated our soccer unit with small sided games. at the end of September Here are some of the pics from the end of September. |

SkyDome Planetarium
On Wednesday students were taken on a 45-minute journey through the universe from the comfort and security of MLE. A portable, inflatable planetarium took students on a tour of the solar system. Students entered the dome and were introduced to a "star filled" sky. A digital planetarium projector and a laser pointer guided students through the stars of the Northern Hemisphere. Students learned how to identify every planet in our solar system in dramatic "flights" towards each world. They were introduced to Greek mythological characters and how these heroes of the past can be found in the stars. Students witnessed the night sky in different seasons and from different global perspectives. Be sure to ask your child all about this cool presentation!

This and That
- Friday will be Picture Retake Day. Be sure to return your previous picture package if your child is doing retakes.
- Our Book Fair began on Wednesday. Books always make for great gifts or stocking stuffers so check out the Book Fair if you are able! A percentage of the Book Fair money collected is given back to our school to purchase additional books for our library.
- If you have not yet signed up for my classroom blog, please do. It is quick access to what is going on in the classroom and throughout the school. If you sent back the form from earlier in the year, I have signed you up but you need to accept the request from Feedburner. My blog will then be sent directly to your email so you don't have to go into my classroom webpage or wait until my newsletter is sent home.
- Second graders were informed of the Battle of the Books a couple weeks ago. This is a great opportunity to have your child read some great books and work with a partner to answer questions about each story. They have from now until early February to read. Any questions about Battle of the Books let Mrs. Kath or myself know.
