Mr. Ronnenberg's Blog

Ronnenberg's Blog

At the beginning of March we invited Dazzling Dave, National Yo-Yo Master to our school to teach us about the Science of Spin and Yo-Yo fun in PE classes.  Dave dazzled us with a "freestyle" and spent two days in PE teaching students how to use Yo-Yo's.  It was a blast and kids learned a lot about hand-eye coordination, perseverance, and the importance of listening and responsibility.

If your child chooses he/she may bring in chocolate to enjoy during the movie and a special drink if he/she chooses.

Math

In math your child continues to work on regrouping as he/she subtracts two-digit numbers. As students work through multiple subtraction problems, they also need to remember their subtraction strategies so they are able to quickly work through each problem. Keep having your child study his/her subtraction facts at home!

Math

Students continue to work on double-digit addition problems with regrouping.

Just Right Books

I continue to remind students to do the five finger test when determining if a book is just right for him/her. If your child opens a book and he/she is not able to read five or more words on any page, then that particular book is too difficult for your child at the present time.
