If able to we are asking families to send $10.00 to school by Oct. 8th. Please make any checks payable to your child's teacher. Wear a Shirt on Monday with a Positive Message!
Sorry for the short notice but we are asking students to wear any type of shirt on Monday that has a positive message on it. Tomorrow afternoon we will be attending a program called Rachel's challenge. The main focus of this program is all about spreading KINDNESS!

Math
Math this week was all about learning addition fact strategies. At home practice with your child making ten facts: 5+5, 6+4, 8+2, etc. Use a dice, a deck of cards, or flashcards to help your child become fluent with these facts.
Word of the Month
The word of the month for September is Friendship. Ask your child to share with you the stick and stone activity we did this week and ask your child about the 3 smiley faces on their fingers. When 3 friends(smiley faces) join another 3 friends(smiley faces) you have a group!

A spelling test will be given every Friday or the last day of school for the week. Please have your child study all 9 words each week.

Important Things to Know
~ Please send a pair of socks to school with your child for him/her to keep in their locker for phy ed. and an extra set of clothes due to water on the playground, etc.
~ We will have a scheduled snack time within our classroom every afternoon. If your child does not do snack cart at school, then please help remind your child to bring a snack from home every day. If your child chooses to bring in more than one snack, please send them in a sealed plastic container to keep in their locker.
~ Every Friday will be board game Friday. Your child may bring his/her favorite board game or card game each week.
