Reader's Theater

Students performed their John Henry reader's theater to 3rd graders on Monday. Ask your child to explain to you why John Henry is a tall tale. The students really enjoyed and had fun with this play!

Phonics

All this week in phonics your child worked with irregular plurals. Students learned that sometimes the spelling of a singular noun needs to be changed in order to make the word plural as in man and men. Other words require no change in spelling when going from singular to plural as in deer.

I Love to Read Month

  • Keep working on your Readopoly boards. We need 150 Readopoly boards completed in order to go tubing at Powder Ridge on Friday, March 4th.
  • Please turn in tubing permission slips and money ASAP. We want to have all forms turned in ahead of time so if we reach our school reading goal we will be all set to tube at Powder Ridge. Keep reading away!!

Readopoly Boards

 In phonics this week your child worked with contractions.  Your child also sorted high-frequency words and your child looked for contractions found within various reading passages.
