Spring break is upon us and it is a great time for your child to recharge for the last stretch of this school year. Whether you are traveling or enjoying some extra home time, encourage your child to play some games, read, and be active in some way. Have a well deserved break and hopefully some well needed sunshine will come our way soon. Mrs. Schneider is ready for flip flops!
All this week in reading students have been working on making predictions using picture and text clues. Students have been encouraged to make predictions before reading a story, during the story, and after reading a story. Over Spring Break keep encouraging your child to read a variety of books for fun!
This week in writing your child brainstormed a list of topics he/she could use to write an informational report on. Students then went to the library to check out a nonfiction book on their chosen topic so that your child can begin researching facts about their topic. Students are so excited to learn more about their chosen topics. They keep asking me when they can start writing?
This week in writing your child got to share their final copy of their Realistic Fiction story. Coming up next week students will brainstorm a list of topics and then select 1 topic from their list to begin collecting research on for an Informational Report.
