Encanto Movie

On Friday our class watched Encanto to conclude the month of April and Autism Awareness month. In the movie one of the characters named Bruno has autism. As a class we discussed how sometimes Bruno is straightforward and honest when telling the future which can often lead to people believing him to have evil contentions. However, autistic people often have a form of communicating that is straightforward which can at times get misinterpreted. We also discussed how sometimes in the movie Bruno shows anxiousness and can be impulsive. Autistic people are more likely to experience elevated levels of anxiety. The discussion our class had after the movie was a great way to wrap up the month of April with Autism.
