Guided Reading

In guided reading this week students have been working on making inferences.  An inference means figuring out something that is not directly stated within a text.  Inferences are often made based off of one or two clues from within a text. When reading texts, authors don't always tell readers everything but they include clues that readers can put together for themselves.  Making inferences helps readers better understand the ideas within a text.
