Battle of Books
Second graders are working hard with their Battle of Books partner. Please encourage your child to spend time reading some of their Battle of Books at home as well so your child is able to get through all of the chapter books before the battle in late January early February. Encourage your child to take notes using the yellow graphic organizer that was handed out to them. This will help your child remember those tough comprehension questions that may be asked. The Change in Seasons
The chilliness has arrived in the air. Your child should come to school every day with a warm coat, snowpants, boots, a hat, and gloves.
Guided Reading
During Guided Reading this week your child spent time identifying the main idea and details within various stories. Please make sure to sign your child's yellow guided reading sheet each night once math and reading have been completed so your child doesn't have to lose 5 minutes of recess time.
