Asking Questions Throughout the Reading Process
Good readers continually ask themselves questions before, during, and after reading a selection. Asking questions increases a child's comprehension while keeping them engaged while reading. When reading with your child ask questions such as:- What does this mean?
- Is this important?
- How do you think the story will end?
- What does this word mean?
- Do you need to read it again?
